The Amazon Dot Field Trip and Backpack Love

The Amazon Dot Field Trip and Backpack Love

Caroline has a new favorite toy. Move over remote control. Step aside, nursery nightlight, giant Pooh Bear, and Cornelius the monkey from the zoo gift shop. Introducing…the Amazon dot! This hockey puck look-alike has totally captured my little girl’s heart. It is the first thing she looks for when she enters her nursery. She loves to hold it in her hands, carry it around, turn it on and off, and watch it light up. She loves that it plays music…

Caroline at 16 Months

Caroline at 16 Months

So Caroline turned 16 months in mid-July and continues to change each and every day. She looks like a full-blown toddler and can definitely throw a tantrum if she doesn’t get her way or if she is forced to share! But most of the time, she is adorable, silly, ticklish, loooooves to cuddle and snuggle, is trying desperately to communicate, and wants to eat alllll the things. She is just so much fun. Unless of course you have to hold…

That Time We Drove to NJ…

That Time We Drove to NJ…

The weekend right after the 4th of July, we packed up the Kia and headed to New Jersey to visit our good friends the Littins. Caroline’s last four hour roadtrip was when she was 6 months old and we drove to Brooklyn, so Mike and I were a bit apprehensive about how our walking, busy, curious 16-month old would do in the car for 4 hours. We shouldn’t have been so worried–she did great. And in true Caroline fashion, she…

4th of July, 2018: Best. Day. Ever.

We had the greatest 4th of July this year–it’s amazing how much difference a year makes. This time last year, Caroline as just a tiny little thing and now she is a real little person with real friends who can have real fun! Mike and I kicked off the events with a Red Sox vs. Nationals game on July 3rd. We joined Mike’s sweet co-worker, her husband, and two young children, who were adorable and ridiculously well-behaved. We got a…

Father’s Day 2018

Father’s Day 2018

Mike and Caroline made sure to celebrate me on Mother’s Day, so I had to return the favor when Mike’s special day rolled around. Luckily I had a few tricks up my sleeve and the weather cooperated, which is always a win! Friday afternoon kicked off the weekend with a “party” at Caroline’s daycare for the dads. Moms could come too, which was wonderful, because both Mike and I got to chat with the other parents as Caroline ate allllll…

Caroline at 15 Months

Caroline at 15 Months

So Caroline turned 15 months in mid-June and I continue to be impressed with the changes I am seeing on a daily basis, especially compared to months 8-12 where now I look back and think she didn’t change all that much (except for crawling faster). This month, her walking has gotten much less wobbly, she has started DANCING (which is an adorable, deep knee-bending action), and she says ‘uh-oh!’ Here is a snapshot of Caroline at 15 months: Running! We…

14 Months and 14 Weeks, Respectively

Caroline has an announcement…please excuse the computer screen shot poor quality… Yup, it’s true! As of June 6th, I am officially 14 weeks along, and Miss Caroline is 14 months old. Here is a picture of Speady Baby #2, taken at 11 weeks: A few notes about this pregnancy: During the first trimester, I was tired but otherwise feeling good. During our Travelin’ Chicks trip to Austin, I may have been in the heat too much because the first few…

Kay Kay and Pa’s Memorial Day Visit

Kay Kay and Pa’s Memorial Day Visit

Kay Kay and Pa came to visit over Memorial Day and they watched Caroline while Mike and I went to Nashville for a long weekend getaway. It was wonderful because we got to spend time with them and celebrate my dad’s birthday and they got to play with Sugar Bear all on their own. They arrived on Tuesday, May 22nd. I got them from the airport and we all went and picked up Caroline from her classroom. They couldn’t believe…

Nashville Getaway Weekend

Nashville Getaway Weekend

Back in January, Mike and I planned a getaway weekend to Nashville because Mike went there a few years ago and swore I would love it–I had never been. He wanted us to go there together so badly so we had to make that happen. We flew my parents up to DC to watch Sugar Bear and I was sneaky and invited our good friends Derek and Stacy (who live in NJ) to join us for part of our trip–a…

We enjoyed the very best weather this weekend and took full advantage by playing outside a LOT. Caroline is growing and changing so much and it it clear we are in for one fun summer.
