Adventures in Oregon, Eugene-Style

Adventures in Oregon, Eugene-Style

I am incredibly lucky to have a wonderful group of friends…who just so happen to be scattered all over the globe. Picture 13 of the smartest, funniest, best ladies you can–and that’s my college rugby friend group. We’ve got some who are fitness fanatics, others who’d rather eat pizza and drink wine and watch Friends (that’s me). We have some who are world travelers, lawyers, professors, moms, single ladies, math superstars, authors, and illustrators. They are on the East Coast,…

Vivienne at 10 Months

Vivienne at 10 Months

Vivi Girl turned 10 months old in the middle of September. I was out of town but she celebrated in style by going to her very first swim lesson, which she loved–her good buddy Charlie is in her class and her Big Sister was in the one afterwards. She has had a little bit of a rough month–teething and a little cold kept her up and cranky at night, running on Motrin and Mommy snuggles. I didn’t mind but holding…

Caroline at 30 Months (2.5 Years!)

Caroline at 30 Months (2.5 Years!)

Happy (half) Birthday, Caroline! I cannot believe you are 2.5 years old today. You are so. much. fun. We are loving (almost) every minute with you. Ha! Especially now that you 2.5 birthday coincided with the day we decided to give you back your paci because we were done hearing you scream for a week when it was time to go to sleep. Now you are back to sleeping like a rock and we are back to really enjoying every…

Caroline’s First Day of 3 Days Preschool 2019

Caroline’s First Day of 3 Days Preschool 2019

Caroline had an EXCELLENT first day back at Fairlington Preschool! She is going three days a week (in the Lilac Room) and her teachers seem super sweet (and also no-nonsense, which I love). She is with nine other kids, a few of whom she knows from the Yellow Room last year. She goes from nine to noon, which means our mornings have a bit more hustle than we are used to! It is a great setting though and I know…

Farewell Summer 2019

Farewell Summer 2019

It’s hard to believe that Summer 2019 is over. It sure was a good one. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, we were busy…having fun and adventures! We had pool parties with Meg, Popsicles on the porch, went to more playgrounds/parks/splash pads than I can count, hosted some of our favorite people, and even squeezed in a few quick getaways (Florida twice and Charleston once). Caroline closed out her first year of preschool, enjoyed soccer, and learned how to climb…

Labor Day Weekend 2019: Fun in Florida

Labor Day Weekend 2019: Fun in Florida

We spent an unprecedented Labor Day Weekend in St. Pete Beach with the best blend of both the Betancourts and the Kearneys, since part of the reason for our visit was celebrating Matt and Tommie’s soon-to-arrive baby boy with a beautiful baby shower. We were at first not all all worried about Hurricane Dorian, then we were really worried, then we went back to not being worried again. It was quite the yo-yo but worked out in our favor in…

A Baby Shower for Baby B :)

A Baby Shower for Baby B :)

We spent a wonderful Labor Day weekend in St. Pete Beach celebrating the best parents ever! Matt and Tommie are expecting a little one in mid-October and we celebrated them in style on the Saturday of Labor Day, despite the constant yo-yo threat of Hurricane Dorian. Turns out the hurricane was not an actual threat, which was nice, because we had a lot of fun things planned that we didn’t want to alter. Tommie’s sweet friends, Lee & Holly, and…
