It’s hard to believe that Summer 2019 is over. It sure was a good one. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, we were busy…having fun and adventures! We had pool parties with Meg, Popsicles on the porch, went to more playgrounds/parks/splash pads than I can count, hosted some of our favorite people, and even squeezed in a few quick getaways (Florida twice and Charleston once). Caroline closed out her first year of preschool, enjoyed soccer, and learned how to climb up the jungle gym. Vivi learned how to scoot, crawl, and pull up on furniture–and fell in love with swinging.

Highlights of summer 2019 include but were not limited to the following, month by month:

In JUNE…

Caroline finished her first year of preschool–she had a GREAT year!

We celebrated Father’s Day for this guy:

To celebrate, we saw Second City at The Kennedy Center and it was hilarious:

Caroline had soccer every Saturday morning in June with her daycare besties:

She also got her second haircut…don’t be fooled by that face! She was thrilled by the the lollipop at the end.

We did a LOT of this because we had great weather that was just begging for outdoor day drinking:

We spend a lot of time front porch sitting:

Vivi learned how to hold her own bottle AND started sitting at the table like a big kid:

These two started dressing alike and Caroline really liked it:

And we spent allll of our weekends poolside with Auntie Meg! Vivi wore the bathing suit my mom saved from when I was a baby.

And these two matched in their watermelon suits:

Caroline fell in love with a carousel horse at Glen Echo Park that she couldn’t bear to leave after the ride was over:

I spent a beautiful day with my work team on the mall…working hard or hardly working??

And then in JULY…

We celebrated the 4th in Charleston:

Caroline and Vivi spent lots of time with good friends:

And the rocking pony was super popular in our household:

As were our early morning crib jam sessions:

Caroline learned how to apply sunscreen:

Which came in handy when we went to Florida for the Kearney Reunion!

Suelen made some beautiful fun lunches (and breakfasts):

Vivi thoroughly enjoyed the Splash Pad…so soothing!

While Caroline couldn’t get enough of the sweet taste of summer.

On to AUGUST:

We spent a lot of time on playgrounds!

We spent more time with friends:

And Caroline enjoyed even more frozen goodies:

We had a fantastic time at the Arlington County Fair:

We celebrated the life of Miss Virginia, one of our neighborhood’s finest:

And Vivi showed us just how sweet and adorable she could be:
