Vivienne at 6 Months

Right before Memorial Day, this little lady turned SIX months old on us. A half year?!? It’s crazy to think she’s been with us that long, because it feels kind of like she has always been here. Vivi is smiley, a huge drooler, a big girl (17.5 pounds, watch out world!) and loves toys in a way very different from Caroline–she is happiest with something in her hand or in her mouth. Shes loves having something to snuggle and something…

Weekend Top Ten: Spring Fling, Trucks, & the ER!

Weekend Top Ten: Spring Fling, Trucks, & the ER!

So we had a BIG weekend around these parts. The weather is now HOT, our patio looks ahh-mazing thanks to Mike’s hard work, and we are ready for fun in the sun! This weekend was also delightful because we had the right balance of planned activities and free time to enable a few spontaneous plans to take shape. One of those spur-of-the-moment events just so happened to be going to the Emergency Room. I have to say, this is our…

Caroline at 26 Months

Caroline at 26 Months

So right after Mother’s Day weekend, Caroline hit the 26 month mark. This past month for her brought us Easter weekend + a sweet visit with our Betancourt family, a trip to Bunny Land at Butler’s Orchard, and a flight up to Boston to visit with Nana, Grandpa Harry, cousins, and Aunt Melissa. We are enjoying much warmer temps and spend a LOT of time outside. This little lady is now officially potty trained! She is also a  scooter-ologist, a…

Potty Training Boot Camp: We Survived!

Potty Training Boot Camp: We Survived!

Our house for the last few days has been turned into a War Zone. Fresh underwear (and reading material) stacked in the bathrooms. Clorox wipes on the backs of the toilet. Rugs rolled up and out of the way. Couches covered in towels. Everyone’s nerves on edge just a bit, waiting for the inevitable. It all began on Thursday night, when Caroline ripped off her diaper at bath time and announced, “NO MORE DIAPERS. ONLY UNDIES!” Well okay then. I…

Vivienne at 5 Months

Vivienne at 5 Months

So a few weeks after I went back to work, Vivi turned 5 months old. 5 months!! One month away from solid foods! She is getting more sturdy (and can rest on my hip now), she’s still waking up (just once) in the night, and her face breaks into a huge smile whenever she makes eye contact with anyone. She is a total baby about having to be rocked to sleep (some nights it takes forever to get her really…

Easter 2019

Easter 2019

We had a wonderful, beautiful Easter. Our Easter celebrations actually spanned two full, glorious weekends packed full of fun events. Spring has arrived in our area and we are loving the blooms, flowering trees, chirping birds, and perfect, 70 degree temperatures. I loved pulling out everyone’s spring clothes and stuffing (and hiding!) Easter baskets. We got to include Suelen and her friend in our Easter celebrations and then we closed out the wonderful weekend with family. The weekend before Easter,…

Caroline at 25 Months

Caroline at 25 Months

So Caroline turned 25 months old in mid-April. We have had a LOT going on this month–lots of changes for our little lady. I went back to work, Suelen arrived, we pulled Caroline out of daycare, and she started at a new little preschool two days a week. She has had a little bit of rough adjustment to all of these changes–we see her getting more defiant, saying NO! a lot, screaming randomly, and not sleeping as consistently. Our little…

Vivienne at 4 Months

Vivienne at 4 Months

So right in the middle of a very busy week at our house, Vivi Kate turned 4 months old on us. Time, it is a-flyin’! During this time, she has been awake for longer stretches of time, has been issued an actual bedtime, has moved into her big-girl crib in her own nursery, has started sitting in the bumbo seat, and has discovered how fun her hands are as toys! She also met Uncle Louis for the first time, met…

Caroline’s First Day of Preschool and Welcome Suelen!

Caroline’s First Day of Preschool and Welcome Suelen!

March 21 was a big day in our house, starting with none other than Caroline’s very first day of preschool! She selected her very own outfit (a new dress she received for her birthday) and she selected her matching bow. We woke up extra early so we could enjoy a waffle and some blueberries before hopping in the car (with Vivienne) for the 10 minute drive to her new school. I was lucky to find a school that could take…

My Girls and Me

My Girls and Me

Right before I returned to work, I had a few days alone. The busyness around Caroline’s birthday party was over. My parents had gone back to Florida. Mike was at work all day. The house was quiet. Everything I had set out to do on my checklist for maternity leave, I’d (pretty much) completed. I had Caroline and Vivi all to myself. And I loved it. I cherished it. I didn’t have anything on my agenda other than enjoying them,…
