Well, the big day finally arrived! 12 MONTHS. Wow. In some ways it feel like it came in a flash and in other ways I feel like Vivi has just always been a part of the family. She hit 12 months on a Friday in November and seeing how it was the big first birthday and all, Kay Kay and Pa were here to celebrate our big girl. And celebrate we did! More on that later…here is what our newly minted ONE YEAR OLD is like!

Here’s a little snapshot of Vivi Girl at 12 months:

• She is 22 lbs and wears size 12-18 months clothes.
• She drinks 4 oz. of whole milk ever 3-4 hours, and eats lots of different kinds of foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She seems to not love carrots but really loves all carbs.

• She devoured the carrot cake we gave her on her actual birthday and did a good job on the smash cake at her party…hello, sweets!!

• She now has 6 teeth!
• She loves playing peek-a-boo. When you ask “where is Vivi??” she covers her eyes with her hands and laughs and giggles when she takes them away.

• She loves “Head Shoulders Knees and Toes” and “If You’re Happy and you Know It” (mainly because she loves touching her head and clapping her hands).
• She is a climber all the way! Stairs, tables, chairs, you name it. Joy gave her a beautiful name puzzle step stool and we put it in the girls’ bathroom. Each morning she makes a beeline for it and stands there while Caroline brushes her teeth.

• She loves climbing backwards onto anything–her carseat, her pink plastic car, anything–and rocking it back and forth.

• She loves her tiny shopping cart and pushing it all around the first floor.

• She loves riding the brown pony. She can climb up onto it all by herself. Her face lights up into a huge smile when the music starts and she rocks happily next to her sister (who is on the rocking elephant).
• She loves putting things around her neck–necklaces, stethoscopes, cords, you name it. We have to watch her like a hawk!
• She has entered a phase where she sends out high pitches screams for no reason whatsoever and we are very excited to move away from this phase…please send us wine (and earplugs for all passengers!) for future plane rides 🙂
• She watches everything Caroline does and screams when Caroline takes something away from her. Caroline is learning quickly to have an alternate toy at the ready.
