Over the weekend, we attended the National Zoo’s Boo at the Zoo event. Caroline turned 19 months in the middle of October. It’s an important milestone because I keep thinking how she will be 20 months old when this baby gets here…and that is getting close! This age is so much fun. Roman turned ONE on October 3rd. I feel like his first year FLEW by–even faster than Caroline’s first year. We all gathered at Lee and Raul’s house on October 6th to celebrate this little fella properly. It was a gorgeous day with minimal humidity and no chance of rain. In mid-August, after more than a few incidents of Caroline biting her sweet classmates in her Toddler I classroom, our preschool director decided to move her into the other toddler classroom to see if that would make a difference. Caroline hit the 18 month mark in mid-September. In fact, the timing was perfect because it was one day before her very first ballet class (designed for ages 1.5 to 2.5). The day finally arrived! On September 1, we headed up to Bah Hahbah Maine for our family summer vacation. For one week, we would relax, eat lobster, hike Acadia, take boat rides, and eat ice cream with our favorite people. We couldn’t wait. We had been looking forward to this trip all summer long. Summer of 2018 was just so much fun. It was a perfect balance of seeing friends & family, having sunny hot days that begged for water play, and late afternoon summer storms that rolled in during family nap time and granted permission to snuggle up with books. Every year without fail since 1982, my mom’s family has held a summertime family reunion. My mom is one of seven kids and the catalyst for this was her dad passing away in 1981.
