Vivienne at 15 Months

Vivienne at 15 Months

Vivi turned 15 months in February and this milestone has seemed to be bigger than the others, to me. We are seeing such a change in this little lady! Her hair is getting longer (and dare I say thicker), she understands EVERYTHING you say, she is cuddly and stubborn and loving and her smile lights up the room…she also is so interested in where Caroline is at all times and is committed to keeping all of her little treasures close to the vest to ensure her older sister doesn’t grab them.

But best of all, everyone…she is leaving in her hairbows! #wehavearrived

Things Vivi Loves at 15 Months:

  • Caroline. More than anyone. If Vivi wakes up first, she will toddle over to Caroline’s closed bedroom door and bang on it, squawking. She wants to see that sister of hers!
  • Suelen. Vivi’s face breaks out into a huge grin when she sees Suelen enter the room.
  • Her ride on pony…as long as the sound is on! If it isn’t singing, “I’m a pretty pony, clippity clop clop” then Vivi climbs off and forgets about it. She also rides longer when Caroline rides her elephant right next to her.
  • Standing on her stepstool in the bathroom. Chewing on the flosser sticks, or her toothbrush, emptying everything into the sink.
  • Standing/climbing on chairs, tables, ride-on toys. She loves to get into mischief!
  • The books Angry Baby, That’s Not My Panda, That’s Not My Flamingo (she loves texture), Underwater Sea Adventures, and Brown Bear. Double points if she gets to climb into the small pink chair in Caroline’s room to read these books.
  • Sticking her fingers in Finnegan’s water bowl and splashing around. This is a lovely new trait.
  • Putting everything in her mouth. Spatulas, my makeup brushes (she loves my makeup drawer), markers, crayons, you name it.
  • Her pacifier. She sleeps with it every night and a lot during the day, too.
  • Loves playing “Where is Vivi??” and covering her face. You can see her smile peeking out underneath. She loves all songs too.
  • Her shopping car and or stroller. Anything she can push. Usually with a baby doll or Waddle Waddle in it. Always going around and around.
  • Finnegan. Loves snuggling him.
  • Pretty much all foods, except corn. She loooooves waffles and eats a whole one every morning!
  • Pat pat patting babydolls and giving them cuddles. It is so cute.

Milestones:

  • Vivi was 26 lbs 12 oz at her 15 month checkup (97th percentile!) and wears size 18 month/24 month/2T clothes. She is in a size 4 shoe.
  • While Vivi technically walked at 14 months, she really took off at 15 months–now she runs everywhere!
  • She just weaned off bottles and likes cups with straws for milk, except she also loves splashing milk all over her face.
  • We hear a lot of grunting from her mainly but every now and then, we get a Mama, Dada, or Up.
  • She will keep a rubber band AND a bow in her hair longer than .5 seconds! And it makes her look so much more grown up when she does.

Sister Love:

The biggest change this month is in Caroline and Vivi’s sister relationship. She and Caroline–really for the first time–play “independently” together now. Meaning, I can leave them both in Caroline’s room with the trains out, books out, or baby dolls out and take a shower while they play together quietly. This has been a game changed and so cute to see! One night, Mike and I even ate a quiet meal together while our two knuckleheads pushed their strollers/shopping carts around the living room, Indy 500 style. But they were quiet! And we got to eat in peace!

Happy 15 months, Vivi Kate!
