An Okee Dokee Weekend

An Okee Dokee Weekend

This weekend we headed through the wilderness and woods to Wolf Trap to see the legendary Okee Dokee Brothers. This was Caroline and Vivi’s very FIRST concert and it was absolutely perfect. The weather was surprisingly cool for August and there was just enough tree canopy to see gorgeous light filter through.

We had just arrived to the outdoor amphitheater when someone called my name–I turned abroad and there was Laura G.–my roommate from 10 years ago! She was there with her almost 2 year old and husband! It was so great running into her. We even all sat together for the concert. Laura G. hails from MN like the Okee Dokee Brothers themselves so it was especially great to share in the magical moments with her.

All Caroline wanted to do was DANCE!

Well, dance…and find buggies 🙂

Meanwhile, Vivi enjoyed the concert in her own way 🙂

And afterwards, we got a picture with the Okee Dokee Brothers!

Next, we went home for naps and I met up with friends for an afternoon of catching up and relaxing on rooftops and had this delicious beverage:

Later that evening, we headed out to Ballston Quarter where this little lady enjoyed some delicious ice cream…too bad we couldn’t tell if she enjoyed it:

The next day, Caroline was up early to “do her work:”

Then we got ready to meet up with friends and wore our finest:

Here we come, dim sum with Ellie and family! These two look like they just turned 16 and took the car for a spin 🙂

Double Trouble.

Dancing Buddies.

Future botanists?? Time will tell!

Later that day, we headed to Clemyjontri Park and even though it felt like the surface of the sun, we had a great time enjoying the free sno cones and riding the carousel!

We ended the weekend with bath time for both kiddos and early bedtimes for all!
