An Egg-cellent Easter
This Easter was one for the books. We had a wonderful Easter weekend! I got out of work early on Good Friday and came home to spend time with this face, who was spending the day with her daddy since daycare was on Spring Break.
We enjoyed a beautiful day on Saturday. Warm, sunny, and windy. We headed to a neighborhood event in the park that featured kite flying, egg rolling, giant bubble blowing fun. Afterwards, we headed to Chick Fil A for a snack and while we were there, we let Caroline try her very first taste of ice cream. And she LOVED it. Loved it so much that when it was all gone, she cried real tears and Mike and I had to make a hasty departure from the restaurant.
We headed over to our friend Kelly’s house to dye Easter eggs. Smart Kelly set up the whole event on her porch outside, which was smart.
Caroline was a natural! She reached right into the dye and pulled out the egg.
The egg dyeing was a hit, but the Cheerio eating was maybe Caroline’s favorite part.
That night, the Easter Bunny visited our house and hid the goodies for Caroline to find in the morning. Finny was a little jealous, but only because he didn’t realize the Easter Bunny brought him some goodies too.
The next morning, some little bunny was excited to find her Easter basket!
She was so excited to find the goods!
After opening our baskets, Mike and Caroline made delicious French toast.
Then they got to work putting up the baby gate at the top of the stairs. Safety first!
In the late afternoon, we headed over to Ed and Susan’s house to have Easter dinner with everyone. Roman Noodle was there and both little ones loved eating the plastic water bottles. It was a wonderful dinner–especially when remembering how this time last Easter, we learned that Lee and Raul had some ‘egg-citing news,’ which was Lee’s pregnancy!
Happy Easter, everyone!

Sweet Caroline’s focus is so intense in many of these photos. I think we have a Little Scholar-in-the-Making. She seems to love the process. PA.
