COVID Lemonade Summer 2020: August
We started out August back in Virginia, settling back into our life there except now trying to pack up our entire house and put in place lots of other details that arise when you’ve decided to move your entire family 900 miles. Good thing I was still on maternity leave because otherwise, this would have been impossible. While this was a hectic time, it was still really sweet, and in many ways, felt like the final chapter in our ‘Life in Virginia’ book before heading south.
In August…
We celebrated Mike’s birthday by making him a cake that luckily tasted better than it looked. I had a great little helper (Caroline!). Happy 44th birthday, Sweet Boy!! You are so loved by this whole crew, especially me.
Louis came to visit and spent a week playing with us–we had a blast! We went to Great Falls, played new games and old (Rummikub), and drank wine.
We met up with Joy and her kids for a game of KUBB in a giant field…
But the “real” fun came when we realized that Suelen had gotten a flat tire and Louis had to change it. Check out these fascinated Robersons!
These little ladies gave Uncle Louis big hugs as he left!
We packed one thousand boxes, rented out our house in Virginia, and welcomed our new cousin, Liam VI, into the world on August 23!
We enjoyed our green, lucious yard and sweet neighborhood:
Harrison turned 3 months and enjoyed being my packing sidekick. That baby bore witness to each and every box packed. I would have to rip the tape in other rooms so as to let him stay in his peaceful slumber…
Caroline joined a little neighborhood “scooter gang” where she perfected her skills and she got to be a climbing superstar at our neighborhood “park where we go voting.”
I enjoyed sweet moments with my three littles:
And even got the two little ladies (safely) out for a few doctor and dentist appointments.
(Vivi did NOT enjoy her first ever dentist appointment and in my humble opinion did not earn the trip to the Treasure Chest at the end. But alas the office staff is nicer than me and they let her help herself to a few bouncy balls!)
Mike and I ventured out to Fairfax for a WAIFWYP gathering and caught this shot of Gen II:
And I bid farewell to my office…just in case I don’t see it again! Such a bittersweet job, to clean it all out. It was like a time warp to early 2020…see the old Valentine’s Day balloon in the corner? Welp.
And that’s what our August looked like…to be continued in COVID Lemonade Fall 2020!
