Welcome, Baby Eliza! Your Arrival and Sip n’ See Weekend

Welcome, Baby Eliza! Your Arrival and Sip n’ See Weekend

Monday, June 25th had been circled on my calendar since last October. October was when Joy delivered the shocking news that she was pregnant with Baby #3. Joy’s scheduled delivery date fell right after the weekend I was hosting my WAIFWYP friends for a birthday celebration. I couldn’t wait to meet the newest Roberson–and learn whether Joy was having a boy or girl! Joy had found out the genders for her other two, but had decided this baby needed to remain a surprise.

Right before the weekend began, Joy had been texting me that she thought she was going to have the baby early, so I was on high alert. Then on Saturday morning, my phone pinged at 8:11 am with news that the baby had arrived at 6:35 am. I shot out of bed, grabbed the goody basket I’d made the week earlier, jumped into my car, and raced to the hospital.

I rushed in to the hospital room and stood next to Joy’s bed, whre she was snuggling a tiny bundle. Joy slowly turned the baby just enough so I could see a big pink bow on her hat…and then she said, “I’d like you to meet my daughter, Eliza Jean.”

Daughter.

DAUGHTER!

Joy had a LITTLE GIRL! I was beyond thrilled for her.

And Eliza was beautiful. She looked just like Luke when he was born.

And she is a lucky little lady because these two gentlemen are going to take very good care of her:

I know this is Joy’s last baby, and I was so glad I got to meet Eliza Jean the day she was born, in the hospital.

Just like I got to meet Toby Marshall when he arrived in 2015:

And Luke Thomas when he made his grand debut in 2013:

Only this time, I could order a very important baby gift: HAIRBOWS.

And then Caroline just had to give Eliza this dress:

So they could be twinsies!

Since Joy waited to find out the gender, we had decided to have a little Sip n’ See to welcome Eliza in mid-July.

I hosted the party at my abode and had the most amazing helper when it came to party decorations:

She also helped put together the inside decor by loaning Eliza some of her very cutest girly items.

Joy had arranged a family photo shoot a few weeks earlier, so I used some of those adorable pictures to set out around my house for the party.

Including this party decoration that was also a gift for Baby Eliza.

The timing was perfect because Angela could come with her entire family AND Joy’s parents and sister would be in town!

I served sweets, cocktails, mocktails, fruit skewers, and chicken salad croissants for a small bunch of our friends.

Eliza slept through most of her party but she was perfectly content being passed around from all these ladies who loved getting newborn baby snuggles.

It was such a nice afternoon to gather and celebrate Joy finally having a little GIRL!

And it was wonderful to shower Joy and Eliza with sweet gifts.

Just look at that sweet Angel Pie…sleeping so peacefully with her new HAIRBOW. I love it.

Welcome, Eliza Jean! We are SO glad you’re here 🙂
