Caroline’s First Christmas, 2017
So Christmas morning came bring and early for us all in Florida. Before we headed downstairs for all the excitement, I snapped this quick picture of me and Caroline to remember the magical moment of her FIRST CHRISTMAS!
Some of us wore our matching jammies (others didn’t have theirs arrive in time, grrrr) but we looked our merriest anyway. The adults headed down first so we could see the four-year-old’s reaction coming down the stairs and it was oh so worth it. My nephew was absolutely adorable when he came downstairs and saw the sea of gifts. He exclaimed,”Look at all these presents!!” And ran right over to give his mom a hug. It was a heart melter.
My parents also gave my brother a car seat so he could easily transport his little boy, and that was a beautiful emotional moment too. Mike and I later gave him some gas gift cards to make his long car trips a little more tolerable, so he could see his son more often. Because really, isn’t that what it’s about?
Santa brought matching gifts for the cousins and my sister in law captured this adorableness.
Kay Kay and Pa gave Caroline her zany Crawl n’ Zoom, which was just about the best present ever for our little girl. It spins around and balls roll out of its mouth for tiny people to then chase.
She loved it. She especially loved putting the balls in her mouth.
We all took our time opening gifts, enjoying being together, and had a wonderful breakfast that my sister prepared.
One of the many perks of enjoying Christmas in Florida is THE WEATHER and getting to pop outside for some Christmas outdoor photos! The sun, the slight breeze, the cloudless sky–it as a picture perfect day. This little one especially loved the wind blowing off the canal through her baby locks.
Mike and I had to get in on it, too.
Later that day, we popped into the hot tub to enjoy the weather even more.
Later, during naptime, Mom and I relaxed by the pool, enjoying the new resort towels that Santa brought, and sharing a bottle of champagne. Christmas doesn’t get any better than this!
